ABC said that John Hamblin died on Wednesday and also used honorary words for him. It said, “The ABC is sad to announce the passing of beloved Play School host “Naughty John” Hamblin who died today age 87,”
The entertainment director of ABC, Jennifer Collins, said John Hamblin was the main reason the program turned out to be Australia’s most cherished children’s show. Jennifer Collins also added, “John had a wicked sense of humour and was not afraid of a double-entendre, his presence always managed to keep both our toddler target audience and their parents equally engaged with the show. I would like to extend my condolences to John’s family at this sad time.”
